How can I use Siri Shortcuts to make logging more automatic?

With the release of iOS12, One Drop users using iPhones can use Siri shortcuts to automate some of the actions they take every day in the One Drop app.

What can I use Siri Shortcuts for?

  • Getting your Average Blood Glucose (BG)
  • Logging a Saved Meal

How do I set up Siri Shortcuts?

Getting your Average BG:

1. Open the One Drop app and tap Daily Moments Analysis.

2. Tap the Siri Shortcuts icon (two overlapping squares).

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to select a phrase.

** Please note that the phrase can be anything you like, from "What's my average blood glucose?" to "I love carbs" to "puppies and rainbows," as long as it's not too similar to another Siri Shortcuts phrase (so, we don't recommend using "Call Mom," for example).

4. Once you have the shortcut set up, you'll just say, "Hey Siri, [phrase you set up]", and she will tell you what your average blood glucose is without having to open the One Drop app.

Logging a Saved Meal

1. Open the One Drop app and navigate to Saved Meals.

2. Tap "Add to Siri" under the meal you'd like to automate.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to select a phrase.

** Please note that the phrase can be anything you like, from "log spaghetti" to "breakfast of champions" to "oops I ate again," as long as it's not too similar to another Siri Shortcuts phrase (so, we don't recommend using "Call Mom," for example).

4. Once you have the shortcut set up, you'll just say, "Hey Siri, [phrase you set up]", and she will log that meal without the need to open the One Drop app.

Having trouble?

This feature is only available for iPhones running the most recent version of the One Drop app on iOS12.
